The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic, resourceful, and proficient Senior Contracts Specialist – Procurement, to manage Core42’s supply portfolio, ensuring transparency of spending and developing innovative, cost-efficient sourcing & category management strategies with specific responsibility for our growing AI related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

The contract specialist will be responsible for the drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing contacts across the operations in particular to support the AI infrastructure business. The position will require a person with strong attention to detail and excellent communications skills. The candidate should have experience in working on complex contracts and be comfortable working with all the required stakeholders.

  • Conduct Procurement Planning activities and liaise with End Users to create an efficient demand plan for their respective departments and business units.
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts (vendor contracts, NDA’s, partnership agreements), improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practices.
  • Create partnership contracts with relevant suppliers and negotiate best prices in comparison to the market.
  • Implement methodologies and recommend ways to improve the management of the different contracts, ensuring management have a clear view on the key business requirements.
  • Discover and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers, ensuring a professional and consistent approach with all supplier relationships.
  • Review, create and analyze procurement spend analysis reports, procurement planned reports and related methodologies to enable efficient procurement.
  • Implement and initiate best practices to enable effective ERP and online procurement processes.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on key contracts.
  • Build, maintain and manage vendor management processes and engage with vendors based on supplier-classification.
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.
  • Assist in the design of the ERP system at the Procurement level.
  • Build and strengthen key relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Comply with all the Group Procurement Policies

Qualifications

a) Required skills / qualifications

  • A detailed knowledge of how AI infrastructure is built and maintained
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of purchase, negotiation, commercials and cost breakdown
  • Project management skills
  • Expertise in Procurement Demand Planning

 

 

(b) Preferred skills / qualifications

  • Relevant business/commercial/law or manufacturing/engineering degree.
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification; or studying towards CIPS qualification.
  • Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within an AI or technology environment
  • Experience in supply chain activities including procurement, contracts, material management, vendor management and similar will be of great value.
  • Experience working with large-scale or government-based organizations with mature systems and processes.
