The Senior Systems Architect for Computing and Virtualization leads design and supports the implementation of large-scale private cloud computing infrastructure ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
Working closely with diverse teams, Senior Systems Architect ensures that solution design aligns with both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Lead design of hybrid virtualization platforms based on OpenStack ensuring platform stability, performance and adherence to industry standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for requirements gathering, providing technical guidance, and ensuring alignment of strategy with business objectives.
• Validate, approve, and contribute to development and maintenance of high-level and low-level design documents, scope of work, RFIs, RFPs and RFQs holding responsibility for compliance with performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
• Support the procurement process by evaluating technologies, sources, preparing specifications, and evaluating proposals.
• Investigate enhancements to optimize the efficiency and reliability of the cloud environments as well as validate and approve platform architecture changes.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members.
• Oversee the deployment process and acceptance testing according to project documentation and design specifications.
• Preparing and delivering presentations on the proposed solutions.
• Contribute to relevant processes and procedures improving efficiency and enhancing internal and external stakeholder experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or other relevant technology field.
• 7+ years of experience and deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing private cloud stacks and 5+ of extensive experience in designing large-scale OpenStack-based environments.
• Expert-level knowledge of virtualization technologies, software-defined solutions (SDS, SDN).
• Expert-level knowledge of Data center network designs and related technologies [OSI model, TCP/IP stack, routing, VLAN/VxLAN, etc].
• Expertise in Openstack components such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, and Heat.
• Deep understanding of cloud computing principles, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) is a must, Red Hat OpenShift experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with monitoring tools: Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana etc.
• Experience with database management and optimization for both SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra is highly desirable.
• Experience with ELK/EFK, OpenSearch, Graylog is a plus.
• Experience in designing HPC environments[CPE, GPU, AI accelerators, high-performance storage] in collaboration with compute and storage vendors is a plus.
• Knowledge of and experience in using architectural frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF, Zachman.
• Proven track record of successfully completing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Openness to continuous learning and adaptation in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
• Relevant certification in cloud computing, virtualization, and systems architecture are advantageous.
