Overview

The opportunity

 

The Manager - Networks Operations is accountable for overseeing and managing the functionality of our 24/7 Network Operations Centre and Cloud Infrastructure to ensure continuous operations, optimal performance, and security.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership
• Manage and maintain resources to operate a 24/7 Network Operations Centre.
• Set clear goals and objectives for the team and provide guidance and support to ensure successful execution.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

 

24x7 Monitoring
• Oversee the 24x7 monitoring of network infrastructure and cloud environments to ensure uptime, performance, and security.
• Implement and maintain monitoring tools and systems to proactively identify and address network issues and potential security threats.
• Develop and refine monitoring procedures and escalation protocols to optimize response times and minimize downtime.
• Lead incident response efforts, including troubleshooting network issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and implementing solutions to restore service quickly.

 

Capacity Management:
• Monitor network performance metrics and conduct regular capacity planning assessments to anticipate and address potential bottlenecks or performance degradation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to scale network resources and optimize performance based on evolving business needs and usage patterns.

 

Documentation and Reporting:
• Develop and enhance routine tasks to be performed by Network Operations Centre.
• Create and maintain technical documentation of processes and procedures for network operations.
• Maintain and comply with standard company technical and administrative procedures.

 

Other
• Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships.
• Coordinate special projects, inventory management and network audits.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must have

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in network operations management, preferable in a diverse technological environment (cloud and on-premises infrastructure).
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of technical professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal teams, external vendors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, NRS II, cloud-related) are a plus.
