The opportunity

The Atlassian Jira Engineer is responsible for implementing regular maintenance activities of multiple self-hosted Confluence and Jira environments. Having a strong technical background in Atlassian products, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain Atlassian applications is essential for this role.

Functional Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support of multiple self-hosted Confluence and Jira environments.
• Implement application security practices, and apply, maintain and solve access and permissions issues for projects, spaces and associated components.
• Support implementation of Atlassian add-ons to meet team and business needs.
• Design and implement custom Jira configurations including projects, reports, dashboards, workflows, permissions, notifications and their associated schemes.
• Maintain Confluence and Jira overall health and performance.
• Coordinate and engage in supporting and developing training requirements across the business.
• Be point of contact for all incoming requests relating to companies Atlassian products.

Organisational Responsibilities:

• Maintain awareness on the strategy planning process.
• Maintain knowledge on new and existing KPI requirements as an individual employee.
• Achieve the goals/objectives of the department/section.

To qualify for the role you must have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a Atlassian Products Administrator, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge of the Atlassian product line and core plugins (inc. Assets, Adaptavist ScriptRunner , Enhancer Plugin and etc.);
• Experience running multiple Confluence/Jira environments;
• Strong knowledge of JQL, experience constructing advanced search queries and complex custom filters;
• Experience writing scripts in Groovy would be an advantage;
• Experience in process automation (both IT and non-IT) using Jira;
• Conceptual and hands-on experience with ITIL, and Agile Frameworks;
• Familiarity with Atlassian application monitoring techniques (runtime logs, database and JMX monitoring, etc.);
• Familiarity with Confluence and Jira APIs;
• Familiarity with Docker, container management, image handling, Dockerfiles, and services administration;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills;
• Certification Atlassian/JIRA Administration;
• Industry certifications, such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Certified Linux Administrator (CLA), are a plus.
